11. How To Optimize and Add Your Images

How To Use Images with Genie

A good rule of thumb is to use images that are between 1500 and 2500 pixels wide. If you’re using a plugin that utilizes a full-width banner (e.g., Header, Welcome Banner, Carousel) or a full-width Container block on your Dubsado form, make sure your image is no less than 2000 pixels wide.

For all other images that do not span the full-width of a browser, make sure it’s no less than 1500 pixels wide.

When you have your images saved to the correct dimensions, drop your files into an image compressor (we like to use TinyPNG), wait for the compression to finish, and download your new files. When you open your zipped file, you should see a significant difference in size!

Once you have optimized your images, head over to Dubsado, and choose the form that you’ll be uploading your images to. From there, you’ll want to do the following:

  1. Add an Images block onto your form and click the block. If you haven’t already added your image files, click the “Add files” link and upload your images.

  1. Next, click on your image file thumbnail from your “Image library” so that it shows in the block on your form.

  1. Hover over the Images block on your form, right click and select “Copy Image Address.” Then delete the Images block on your form.

  1. Head back to Genie and paste the image address in the generator field where prompted to add an image URL.
