Sharing Templates As A Collaborator (Premium & Pro Members)

What Are Collaborators

Collaborators are a feature for our Premium and Professional members, allowing you to easily share a template with your client so that they can edit it on their own, without having to edit it for them. Once a collaborator is added, your client will be able to view their template in their own Genie account, access it on their dashboard, and make edits if need be.

How Many Collaborator Seats Do I Have Access To?

Premium members are gifted with 20 Collaborator seats to start you off. Once you have used up those seats, you have the option to buy more at $99 for a bundle of 10. You are able to assign one collaborator (one email address) per template. Once you have assigned a collaborator, that seat is used up and you will not get it back should you remove the collaborator.

Do Collaborators Get Notified When I Add them to a Template?

Collaborators do not get notified when you add them to a template. You will need to let them know that they should sign up for a free Genie account with the email address you shared it with. Once they sign up for an account, they will be able to see the shared template on their dashboard.

What Does The Collaborator Have Access To?

The collaborator will have access to the plugins and tools that you share with them. They will be able to load their template, make edits on Genie, and pull new magic from the template so they can update their Dubsado form. Collaborators will not be able to add new plugins/tools that were not originally used to design the template when you initially shared it with them. They will also only be able to copy magic directly from the template shared with them. Should the collaborator choose to add additional plugins or duplicate the template, they will need to purchase the plug-in/template before being able to access the code.

Is the Collaborator Editing The Same Template That I Shared With Them?

Yes, the collaborator has access to your exact template and any changes they make will reflect on your copy as well. This includes changes made to plugins. If the template accidentally gets deleted, or your client royally messes things up, we encourage you to duplicate the template—prior to sharing it—and keep this copy inside your account. This way, you can revert back to the original if needed.

What Happens If I Cancel My Subscription With Genie?

Your client’s access to their shared templates, hinges on your Genie account’s access. If you have not purchased additional collaboration seats for $99, you will need to do so in order to keep your collaboration templates active for your past clients.
